What is recorded
When you open a page on this site, a single visit record is stored containing:
- the date and time of the visit
- your IP address
- your browser’s time zone, and the country it corresponds to
- the page you opened and the site that linked you here, if any
- basic browser details: browser, operating system, device type, language and screen size
No cookies are used, nothing is shared with advertising networks, and the site does not try to identify you personally. The country is worked out from the time zone your own browser reports — your IP address is never sent to a geolocation service.
Why
To understand how many people visit the site and roughly where they come from, and to protect the site against abuse. This is based on my legitimate interest in running and improving my website (KVKK Art. 5(2)(f) / GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Where it is stored and for how long
Visit records are stored in a database file on my own server. No analytics company, advertising network or cloud provider receives them, and only I can read them. They are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted automatically.
Your rights
You can ask to access or delete records relating to your IP address, or object to this processing, by emailing cuneyt.irmak@outlook.com.
Opting out
Opening any page of this site with ?notrack at the end of the address stops that browser from being recorded. Use ?track to undo it.
